how it all started
Auction of the Stars was the scene of the first foray into the world of breeding perfomance warmbloods using Grand Prix bloodlines.
We had become friendly with Heath and Rozzie whilst taking lessons there and decided to go to the Auction to see what it was all about. Michael was thinking about a new eventing horse while Heath was patiently explaining that there were no potential 4* horses on offer that day in Bowral.
Undeterred, we wandered from stable to stable looking at all the potential superstars until I came across Jermyn Street. I was gone. He was such a star! Rozzie commended me on my good eye and we left it at that. After all, we knew nothing about youngsters. What were we going to do with a weanling colt?
Well, to cut a long story short, we were about to find out as after the Auction had finished, we were the proud owners of not 1 but 3 gorgeous weanling colts!! Heath certainly has a way with words...
At the next Auction, we decided to buy a filly and have a go at breeding with her. Had not a lot of idea what we were doing and armed only with a good eye and exceptional intuition we ended up with a gorgeous grey weanling named Ragamuffin and a spectacular mare, Rainmaker in foal to Jive Magic.
